it’s probably no secret that i have a thing for rattan, and especially when it arrives in the shape of a bucket-shaped chair. they come vintage or brand new, in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and sometimes in other materials too — like the ever-popular Acapulco chair which is sometimes made from cotton cord, or woven vinyl and even leather — i have a few of the vinyl version around a fire pit at home and they are much comfier than you might imagine. you can find these chairs in an abundance of places: anthropologie has a pari rattan chair, serena & lily makes a pretty hennie chair, the citizenry makes the beautiful leather aldama chair and you can find lots of these chairs in the vintage version at flea markets, and on chairish, etsy and ebay. and whether you put them inside or outside, they’re the kind of easy chair that adds interesting texture, shape, and style that goes on for days.
